{"version":1,"id":"payagent-lcx-ai-labs","title":"PayAgent (LCX AI Labs)","summary":"PayAgent is a non-custodial crypto payment product built by LCX AI Labs that lets people and AI agents create payment links, invoices, and on-chain payments.","content":"**PayAgent** is a non-custodial [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) checkout and payment-infrastructure product built by LCX AI Labs for people, businesses, and autonomous [AI agents](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ai-agents). It supports payment links, invoices, profile payments, and agent-initiated on-chain transfers; PayAgent verifies a transaction before recording it, while the sender’s wallet retains control of the funds and keys. [LCX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/lcx) announced that PayAgent was live on February 16, 2026, after an earlier beta phase.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-lsi0jia4ph)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-ejwr18z8fw)\n\n## History\n\nLCX AI Labs developed PayAgent to combine payment tools for human users with an API-based system for autonomous software. The team identified the need for agent payment infrastructure in 2024, as frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGPT, and CrewAI made autonomous workflows more accessible. The agents needed ways to pay for services such as compute, data, and API calls, as well as to receive payment for completed work.[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-edmliymy5f)\n\nPayAgent was LCX AI Labs’ first product. The PayAgent Team described it as being in beta in March 2025, with payment links for people and a REST API and software development kit (SDK) for developers and agents. That article reported an earlier deployment across [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum), [Base](https://iq.wiki/wiki/base), [Polygon](https://iq.wiki/wiki/polygon), [Arbitrum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/arbitrum), [Optimism](https://iq.wiki/wiki/optimism), and [BNB Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-smart-chain), and described integrations with agent frameworks as work in progress.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-ejwr18z8fw)[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-edmliymy5f)\n\nLCX announced PayAgent as live on February 16, 2026, initially describing its live service on [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum) [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet) and its agent-payment functionality as an API preview. The announcement presented payment links, real-time tracking, creator rewards, and Standard and Pro modes as available features.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-lsi0jia4ph)\n\n## Payment Model\n\nPayAgent functions as checkout and payment infrastructure rather than as a wallet. It does not hold users’ or agents’ funds, store private keys or [seed phrases](https://iq.wiki/wiki/seed-phrase), broadcast transactions, or take a share of payment amounts. The payer signs and sends a transfer from a wallet they control and pays the network’s [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) fee; PayAgent records the payment after checking the submitted transaction against the on-chain transfer.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-hb5v77dl9q)[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-3a3v7w7gna)[\\[8\\]](#cite-id-2lf33jtx6w)\n\nThe service provides different payment interfaces for people and for agents. Human users can create links, invoices, or public profile pages, while merchants can register agents through a workspace API, associate them with spending wallets, and apply policies to their transactions. Payers do not need PayAgent accounts. Merchants sign in through Google or an EVM wallet and verify receiving wallets for the networks on which they accept payments.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-3a3v7w7gna)\n\n### Human Payments\n\nA merchant or individual creates a payment link by selecting a fixed amount, token, network, and expiry. The link can be shared with a payer, who opens it, connects a wallet or scans a checkout QR code, and sends the payment on-chain. PayAgent records a link as paid only after verifying settlement. Links can be created individually or in batches of up to 50, and have pending, paid, expired, or cancelled states.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)\n\nPublic profiles let users receive payments at a username-based page, including payments for arbitrary amounts. Invoices can contain line items and can be exported as PDFs or shared by email; an invoice may also include a payment link. Creating an invoice requires a username and a verified receiving wallet for its network.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)\n\nReceiving-wallet verification uses a signed message, rather than transferring control of the wallet to PayAgent. The product’s stated aim is to let people accept [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) without a complex payment integration; its site also describes payment links as usable by freelancers and creators.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-hb5v77dl9q)\n\n### Agent Payments and Spending Policies\n\nA merchant registers an agent through the API, attaches a payer wallet, and activates a spending policy. The agent checks whether a proposed payment is permitted, signs and sends the transaction from its own wallet, and submits the transaction hash to PayAgent. The API checks the hash against the on-chain transfer before recording the payment. PayAgent does not send the agent’s transaction, and the agent wallet pays network [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas).[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)\n\nAgents can pay a payment link, a public profile, or a raw wallet address. The documented integration sequence is to register the agent, add a wallet, activate a policy, run a preflight check, send the transaction, and report its hash. The submitted payer address must match a wallet registered to that agent. Workspaces can register up to 10 agents, and the API requires an idempotency key when recording a payment.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)\n\nPolicies can set per-payment, daily, and monthly spending caps in U.S. dollar terms; allow or [block](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block) particular networks and tokens; restrict whether an agent may pay or create links; and require human approval above a threshold. If no active policy is in place, the money APIs fail closed. Agents cannot change their own policies. A request may be allowed, denied, or held for human approval, with policy decisions recorded in receipts and workspace audit records.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)\n\nFor [stablecoins](https://iq.wiki/wiki/stablecoin), policy caps use the [stablecoin](https://iq.wiki/wiki/stablecoin) amount directly for dollar limits. Native-token caps rely on live pricing and may be denied if that pricing is unavailable. Payment preflight can also reject requests because of inactive or over-limit agents, mismatched wallets, expired or cancelled links, unsupported token-network combinations, disallowed actions, or a required approval.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)\n\n## Fees and Rewards\n\nPayAgent’s general product and terms descriptions say it charges no platform fee and takes no percentage or share of the payment. The sender pays the network fee, and optional rewards are separate from checkout fees.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-hb5v77dl9q)[\\[8\\]](#cite-id-2lf33jtx6w)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)\n\nThe February 2026 launch announcement described a distinct LCX-denominated fee arrangement. In Standard mode, a payment supported [USDC](https://iq.wiki/wiki/usdc), USDT, or [USAT](https://iq.wiki/wiki/usat) and cost 2 [LCX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/lcx), with 1 [LCX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/lcx) going to the payment-link creator. Pro mode supported [ERC-20](https://iq.wiki/wiki/erc-20) tokens and cost 4 LCX, with 2 LCX going to the creator. The announcement said the payer covered the fee and that Uniswap would automatically source the required LCX if the payer lacked it.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-lsi0jia4ph)\n\nPayAgent’s later documentation describes default rewards on confirmed USDT or [USDC](https://iq.wiki/wiki/usdc) payments, with LCX as an optional additional reward rather than a requirement for sending or receiving payments. Referral codes can grant credits for successful referred signups. The terms state that LCX payouts require a manual request and are not instant withdrawals.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-apz5uu1u97)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-qvs95l1f7e)[\\[8\\]](#cite-id-2lf33jtx6w)","categories":[{"id":"projects-and-protocols","title":"projects-and-protocols"}],"tags":[{"id":"AIInfrastructure"},{"id":"AIAgent"},{"id":"Payments"},{"id":"Ethereum"},{"id":"Base"}],"images":[{"id":"QmU7JVrdYqpYgWTnPXdDGNuDsnzrozQgRxGAE8aTt3AdWK","type":"image/jpeg, image/png"}],"media":[],"metadata":[{"id":"website","value":"https://www.payagent.co/"},{"id":"main-image-origin","value":"{\"imageId\":\"QmU7JVrdYqpYgWTnPXdDGNuDsnzrozQgRxGAE8aTt3AdWK\",\"originalId\":\"QmU7JVrdYqpYgWTnPXdDGNuDsnzrozQgRxGAE8aTt3AdWK\"}"},{"id":"references","value":"[{\"id\":\"lsi0jia4ph\",\"url\":\"https://lcx.com/en/payagent-is-live-crypto-payments-for-humans-and-ai-agents\",\"description\":\"LCX launch announcement\",\"timestamp\":1793547767995},{\"id\":\"ejwr18z8fw\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/blog/ai-agent-payments-explained\",\"description\":\"PayAgent overview and beta history\",\"timestamp\":1793547767995},{\"id\":\"hb5v77dl9q\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/about\",\"description\":\"PayAgent overview\",\"timestamp\":1793547767995},{\"id\":\"edmliymy5f\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/blog/payagent-lcx-origin-story\",\"description\":\"LCX and PayAgent origin story\",\"timestamp\":1793547767995},{\"id\":\"apz5uu1u97\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/docs\",\"description\":\"PayAgent v2 documentation\",\"timestamp\":1793547767995},{\"id\":\"qvs95l1f7e\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/changelog\",\"description\":\"PayAgent product changelog\",\"timestamp\":1793547767996},{\"id\":\"3a3v7w7gna\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/producthunt\",\"description\":\"Product Hunt product description\",\"timestamp\":1793547767996},{\"id\":\"2lf33jtx6w\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/terms\",\"description\":\"PayAgent terms\",\"timestamp\":1793547767996},{\"id\":\"578awn79nw\",\"url\":\"https://www.payagent.co/#hero\",\"description\":\"PayAgent homepage\",\"timestamp\":1793547767996}]"},{"id":"commit-message","value":"Create PayAgent (LCX AI Labs) wiki"}],"events":[{"title":"PayAgent enters beta","date":"2025-03-01","type":"DEFAULT","description":"By March 2025, LCX AI Labs described PayAgent as being in beta, with payment links for people and a REST API and SDK for developers and agents.","link":"https://www.payagent.co/blog/ai-agent-payments-explained","country":null,"continent":null,"multiDateStart":null,"multiDateEnd":null,"id":"123f9c7d-6ca9-40af-bdd2-152a4cb41e5a"},{"type":"DEFAULT","title":"PayAgent goes live","date":"2026-02-01","description":"LCX announced PayAgent as live on Ethereum mainnet, with payment links, real-time tracking, creator rewards, Standard and Pro modes, and agent-payment functionality available as an API preview.","link":"https://lcx.com/en/payagent-is-live-crypto-payments-for-humans-and-ai-agents","multiDateStart":null,"multiDateEnd":null,"country":null,"continent":null,"id":"a7ecbdcf-4b7f-4074-b6a5-1aac7a2996f2"}],"linkedWikis":{"founders":[],"blockchains":["ethereum","base","solana"],"speakers":[]},"user":{"id":"0x8af7a19a26d8fbc48defb35aefb15ec8c407f889"},"author":{"id":"0x1e23b34d3106f0c1c74d17f2cd0f65cdb039b138"},"language":"en","operator":{"id":"0x1e23b34d3106f0c1c74d17f2cd0f65cdb039b138"}}
