[YZi Labs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-labs) reported that MEET48 was founded in 2022.[\\[9\\]](#cite-id-xgy69ssocs) Its distinctive combination is AI-assisted virtual-idol and user-generated entertainment with on-chain fan voting and participation.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) Founded by a group that includes Kai Xu, Jason Liao, and Lin I-Ming, it aims to give users tools to create and interact with idols while allowing communities to influence their careers through voting and other forms of participation.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-b22xq6xk1n)\n\nMEET48 describes its approach as “AI-Web5” entertainment: a combination of AI applications, social and creative tools, Web3-based participation, and virtual experiences. Its stated goal is a more democratized entertainment environment in which users can create content and communities have an active role in how entertainment develops.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-nuo9k9mqeh)\n\n## Overview\n\nMEET48’s concept draws on idol entertainment and fan communities, with the project identifying SNH48 Group as a strategic partner. A December 2025 overview said the founders had accumulated more than a decade of experience in idol management, performances, fan engagement, and digital-content monetization through SNH48. It described SNH48 at its peak as having more than 10 million fans, five theaters in five cities, and a decade of live performances.[[1]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) MEET48 and other accounts have cited a broader audience of more than 30 million idol fans associated with SNH48 Group.[[4]](#cite-id-nuo9k9mqeh)[[5]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo)\n\nMEET48’s strategy draws on materials associated with SNH48, including recorded performances, archived virtual-reality viewing content, licensed music, and idol–fan interaction data collected through the Pocket48 application. MEET48 and project sources have claimed that it obtained virtualization rights for 736 real idols, supporting a model in which real and virtual performers can participate in the same digital entertainment ecosystem.[[1]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)[[6]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28)\n\nMEET48.ai and the MEET48 app on [BNB Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-smart-chain) launched in 2024. MEET48.ai was presented as a system for character creation, performance sequencing, and AI-generated user-content workflows; the app introduced tokenized voting events and on-chain fan engagement. The IDOL token generation event and token launch took place separately, on June 11, 2025.[[1]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) MEET48’s stated framework combines Web 2.0-style AI applications, virtual-content-building tools, consumer entertainment products, and [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) social and gaming applications. The project describes its [metaverse](https://iq.wiki/wiki/metaverse) infrastructure as a graphical, intelligent social hub for participation in entertainment and games.[[3]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)\n\n### 2025–2026 Roadmap and Delivery Status\n\nA July 2025 roadmap described plans to adapt the music-and-dance game AI-Audition for [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) in the third quarter of that year. The article said the project involved the original Audition market team, a development group of more than 500 people over three years, $100 million in investment, and a music-and-dance language model. It identified IDOL as the planned game’s native token and said a limited beta was expected to be announced.[[6]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28) The same roadmap set two additional play-to-earn games as Q4 2025 targets and AI-Audition’s open beta and full commercial operation as Q1 2026 targets.[[6]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28)\n\nThe roadmap framed these targets as an effort to combine existing game intellectual property with AI and [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3), and to expand into GameFi, SocialFi, and a decentralized entertainment [metaverse](https://iq.wiki/wiki/metaverse). MEET48’s stated strategy also included launching its token before developing core content services, with further AI, gaming, and social products planned.[[6]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28)\n\nAt a Seoul roadshow on December 26, 2025, MEET48 announced partnerships with Zanybros and Gaudio Lab and scheduled Auditions GO for release in the first half of 2026.[[10]](#cite-id-ncakye6934) A March 2026 [Gate](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gate) report continued to describe Auditions GO as expected in 2026.[[11]](#cite-id-ra0wrfmj97) As of November 8, 2026, the available sources do not confirm whether the limited beta, the two Q4 2025 games, or the AI-Audition open beta and commercial launch occurred.\n\n## Platform and Products\n\nMEET48 organizes its offerings around content creation, social and entertainment experiences, and token-based economic activity. Its tools are intended to support both fans and professional creators, while its entertainment products connect user-created material with idol interactions, games, and virtual events.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-b22xq6xk1n)\n\n### AI Content Creation\n\nMEET48 describes MEET48.ai as supporting the creation, sharing, and presentation of AI-generated content. Its creative toolkit, PARO AI, is described by the project as an in-house, large-language-model-based agent framework trained on material from idol performances and fan interactions. MEET48 says users can specify a virtual idol’s appearance, voice, fashion, performance traits, and personality, then create songs, dances, videos, comics, and podcasts featuring that character.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\nMEET48 and project coverage describe other named tools, including IdolGPT and AIShowBOX. IdolGPT has been described as a tool for generating choreography for AI idols and supporting on-chain challenge contests. AIShowBOX enables users to assemble virtual performances with elements such as stages, lighting, and choreography.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28) MEET48 also describes an AI toolkit for creating and managing virtual idols with distinct voices, appearances, and personalities.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)\n\nMEET48 describes creations as shareable across the ecosystem and convertible into Virtual World Assets (VWAs), such as performances, scenes, and in-game items, for trading through the MEET48 marketplace on [BNB Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-smart-chain). The platform presents this process as a way for creators and fans to establish ownership of digital creations and participate in secondary markets.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\n### Social and Entertainment Experiences\n\nThe MEET48 app serves as a social and engagement hub, with social feeds, chat rooms, idol profiles, live events, auditions, contests, and collaborative spaces. Fans can use the app for on-chain voting, seasonal rankings, and community activities.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) MEET48 also describes a virtual and variety theater for user-created shows featuring real and virtual idols, livestreaming, and video-on-demand uploads. Virtual-reality upgrades are part of the offering, with viewing dependent on suitable hardware.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)\n\nThe platform’s planned and described games include Auditions GO, a rhythm-based game in which virtual idols perform user-created dances and compete. MEET48 has said the game is expected to use PARO AI to generate performances and personalities. A December 2025 MEET48 announcement scheduled its release for the first half of 2026; a March 2026 Gate report continued to describe it as expected in 2026. As of November 8, 2026, its public release status remains unconfirmed in the sources reviewed.[\\[10\\]](#cite-id-ncakye6934)[\\[11\\]](#cite-id-ra0wrfmj97) MEETLabs, which incubates projects for the platform’s experience layer, developed DeFishing, a play-to-earn fishing game described as using IDOL, GFT, and GSC tokens and as a token sink for IDOL.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\nOther ecosystem modules described by MEET48 include Pet48, involving AI pets, virtual companions, and [non-fungible token (NFT)](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) breeding; Monster48, involving battles and adventures; and a virtual-land and construction system for building idol cities and other projects.[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-tzednqbeu6) The platform also promotes Idol City, where users can purchase land, and social games, stage and live NFTs, idol support, and voting.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)\n\n### Mars Protocol\n\nMars Protocol is MEET48’s launch platform for community-driven tokens associated with real and virtual idols. It enables users to issue Idol-Meme tokens and participate in bonding-curve markets, in which token prices change according to a defined curve as tokens are bought or sold. The project describes these tokens as representations of community attention and participation rather than ownership of individual content assets.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\nMars Protocol is built on BNB Smart Chain and is also described as a platform for AI-agent tokens and meme coins. Its features include AI-agent services, community-building mechanisms, and optional incubation support such as supply locking, promotion, and access to AI-generated-content tools. Community voting, events, and rankings can affect a token’s visibility and access to additional support.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) MEET48.ai also lets users customize virtual-idol [AI agents](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ai-agents) that can chat, livestream, provide companionship, and perform virtually.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo)\n\n[CertiK](https://iq.wiki/wiki/certik)’s MEET48 profile lists three audit records. Its displayed latest audit, dated November 2, 2025, assessed GFT.sol and records one acknowledged centralization finding.[\\[12\\]](#cite-id-99k276tfwn)\n\n## IDOL Token and Governance\n\nIDOL is MEET48’s native utility and [governance token](https://iq.wiki/wiki/governance-tokens). The project describes it as supporting fan voting, idol governance, access to platform features, purchases of virtual goods, premium interactions, and participation in ecosystem products. It can also be used for activities such as livestreams, virtual meet-and-greets, chatrooms, and [metaverse](https://iq.wiki/wiki/metaverse) experiences.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\nIDOL voting allows fans to influence idol rankings, competition results, visibility, event placement, and eligibility for later showcases. MEET48’s Proof of Creativity (PoC) mechanism applies community voting to content and performances; high-scoring work can receive featured placement, enter competitions, or qualify for further [tokenization](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tokenization) through Mars Protocol.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)\n\nMEET48’s token generation event and IDOL token launch took place on June 11, 2025, through [Binance](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance) Wallet’s initial decentralized exchange offering and Binance Alpha. A July 2025 article reported that the offering was oversubscribed by more than 192 times.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28) MEET48 announced an [airdrop](https://iq.wiki/wiki/airdrop) program on June 8, 2025, for eligible ecosystem users, contributors, creators, partner communities, and other groups. The announced plan made 50% of an eligible recipient’s allocation claimable at TGE and scheduled the remainder in six monthly installments beginning six months later, from December 2025 through May 2026.[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-tzednqbeu6) Blockworks Intel and CoinLaunch list the 432 million IDOL airdrop allocation as fully unlocked at TGE. Those allocation unlock figures do not verify whether individual recipients claimed later tranches.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm)[\\[13\\]](#cite-id-x4k1vmgw1a)\n\nThe token’s stated total and maximum supply is 4.8 billion IDOL.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) Blockworks Intel listed allocations including 36.2% for community, 20% for ecosystem, 9% for airdrops, and 5.8% for marketing, with vesting schedules varying by category. For example, it described the community allocation as subject to a six-month cliff followed by linear vesting over 48 months, while the airdrop and marketing allocations were listed as unlocked at the token generation event.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) A July 2025 article reported a different allocation breakdown, including 45.2% for community rewards and future airdrops, and described [DAO](https://iq.wiki/wiki/dao) voting as controlling special unlocking events.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28)\n\nIn competitions, tokens used to vote were spent; Blockworks Intel reported that some were burned, some went to winners, and the remainder was described as returning to community pools for future competitions. It reported that 0.45% of total IDOL supply was burned during the 2025 annual competition.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) MEET48’s materials describe token burns and vesting as mechanisms intended to create deflationary pressure.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-nom8aameuo) Burns remove tokens from circulation, while vesting releases allocated tokens over time.\n\n## Idol Competitions and Fan Participation\n\nMEET48’s annual auditions and ceremonies combine idol rankings, performances, and community-selected events. Its announced formats include rankings, a concert featuring the year’s top 50 original songs selected by the community, an idol sports competition with community-selected events, a vote for the year’s best performing duo, and a fashion catwalk in which fans select idol-and-brand pairings.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28)\n\nThe inaugural [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) Idol Popularity Awards (WIPA), held in August 2025, was MEET48’s first large-scale implementation of token-based voting for real and virtual idols under the same system. Blockworks Intel reported that participants committed approximately 78 million IDOL during the voting period, equivalent to 1.63% of total supply. Voting outcomes affected rankings, platform visibility, and eligibility for later content releases and ecosystem initiatives.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-2c4sanr4nm) A July 2025 article said the event was scheduled to conclude on August 2 in Hong Kong alongside the SNH48 Group Annual Youth Gala, and reported that MEET48 had recorded 16,929,803 IDOL in WIPA revenue by July 1.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28)\n\nMEET48 has presented voting as a way for fans to influence idol careers and resource allocation rather than simply register preferences. In one example described by WuBlockchain, winners of on-chain votes performed at the WebX 2024 opening party, while audience cheering levels affected real-time online voting weights. The project also cited the GIPR2 grand election as an example of linking fan votes to idol-resource allocation.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28) [Gate](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gate) Learn reported that several on-chain voting events generated more than two million new wallet-address registrations, over 20 million [NFT](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) votes, and more than four million on-chain interactions.[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-tzednqbeu6)\n\n## Funding and Team\n\nIn April 2025, MEET48 completed a token financing round at a reported $100 million valuation, led by HashKey Capital, Hash Global, and Liang Xinjun, with participation from [Animoca Brands](https://iq.wiki/wiki/animoca). On June 26, 2025, [YZi Labs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-labs), formerly Binance Labs, announced an investment in the project. The [BNB Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-smart-chain) [Foundation](https://iq.wiki/wiki/foundation) also announced that it held $25,000 worth of IDOL as part of its $100 million Incentive Program.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-5ips3kml28) ICO Analytics listed a $200,000 public sale in June 2025 and reported the April round at a $100 million valuation, without specifying the amount raised.[\\[8\\]](#cite-id-fgn9e1jfes)\n\nMEET48’s website lists Kai Xu as a former vice president and head of international business development at SNH48 Group and an international-content director at New Culture Media Group. It lists Jason Liao as a former senior vice president of SNH48’s Pocket48 app and founder and CEO of Taiwan-based 17mobile Tec Inc.; Liao was also identified as a vice president at game developer and publisher Nineyou. The website describes Danny Hu as a former Fosun Group director and former director and China chief representative of Springland International Group.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28) YZi Labs identifies Wayne Zhang as a co-founder and Ken Xu as a co-founder and CEO.[\\[9\\]](#cite-id-xgy69ssocs)\n\nMEET48’s website lists Joanne’s experience since 2016 as spanning [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) trading, IT development, product management and design, and marketing. It describes Kim Junhong as founder and CEO of Zani Bros Studio and Astro Video, who has produced and directed more than 300 music videos for artists including BTS, Big Bang, Blackpink, Girls’ Generation, and SNH48 idols.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-ykonbpgh28) Blockworks Intel identifies Lin I-Ming as a founder with a crypto background and work with
