He then continued his studies at the same university in 2003 and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management in 2005.[[2]](#cite-id-jklx5fpitr9) \n \n\n## Career\nDuring his first year at university, Verdian worked for around a year as a consultant at Ernst & Young. He then joined information technology company DXC Technology as a Senior Security Architect in October 2001, a position he held until December 2005. From January 2006 to August 2007, he served at the same firm as EMEA Security Architecture and Consulting Manager and Strikeforce Global Practise Lead. \n\nIn October 2007, Verdian returned to Ernst & Young as Senior Manager of Security and remained there until August 2011. While in this role, he also served at the United Kingdom’s finance ministry, HM Treasury, from June 2009 to August 2011 as Chief Security Officer and Deputy Chief Technology Officer. \n\nAfter leaving Ernst & Young and HM Treasury in August 2011, he joined HSBC for a seven‑month role focused on security projects and programmes. He then became Security Lead for the UK Ministry of Justice from July 2012 to December 2013. \n\nVerdian joined PwC as Director of Cybersecurity in late 2013, a position he held for less than a year. From April 2014 to November 2016 he was Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at eHealth NSW. During this period he also served as interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) of NSW Ambulance from November 2014 to November 2016, leaving both New South Wales health roles at the same time. \n\nWhile still working in Australia, Verdian became Chief Information Security Officer of VocaLink, a Mastercard company, in July 2016. provider for the UK Regulated Liability Network (RLN) initiative led by UK Finance, where its Overledger platform delivers programmability and interoperability across different forms of money.[[8]](#cite-id-1cmhjk11g2) In 2025, Quant was selected to create the payments infrastructure and bank technology for the UK's Tokenised Sterling Deposits (GBTD) project and launched QuantNet, a
