The format is intended to connect a diverse international audience of decision-makers and professionals involved in the digital economy. For its eighth edition in 2026, the week ran from June 22–28, 2026 in Amsterdam, anchored by the Dutch Blockchain Week Summit on June 24–25, 2026 at the Johan Cruijff Arena.[[3]](#cite-id-hb8jgl7hxl) The central feature of the week is a multi-day summit that includes keynotes, panel discussions, and in-depth sessions on topics such as asset [tokenization](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tokenization), regulatory compliance, market infrastructure, and digital payments.\n\nAlongside the main summit, more than 40 community-driven side events and additional conferences take place, including hackathons, networking gatherings, award ceremonies, and smaller, focused meetups. The event series targets a professional audience, including institutions, founders, and policymakers, with the aim of supporting collaboration and development within the European [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) ecosystem. The organizers describe Dutch Blockchain Week as a week dedicated to digital assets, [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain), and institutional [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3).\n\n## 2027 Edition (9th Edition)\n\nDutch Blockchain Week 2027 is scheduled to take place from May 17–23, 2027 in Amsterdam. The Dutch Blockchain Week Summit (DBW Summit) will be held on May 19–20, 2027 at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. The organizers describe the series as one of Europe’s leading business events for digital assets, [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain), and [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3), bringing together professionals from exchanges, banks, payment providers, funds, market makers, regulators, infrastructure companies, and global technology firms.\n\nAt the center of the week, the DBW Main Summit is presented as a two-day gathering focused on high-level content, business development, and networking. It offers panels, deep dives, and Web3-focused sessions aimed at institutions, founders, policymakers, and other professionals involved in digital assets.\n\n## History\n\nDutch Blockchain Week was founded in 2019, with its public presence established in April of that year.[[2]](#cite-id-5iqnj0a2IBP3gSaB) Since its inception, the event has expanded its program and partnerships over successive editions, adapting to global circumstances and adjusting its focus to meet the needs of the [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) industry.\n\nThe inaugural event in 2019 was a small gathering at the Venturerock Office in Amsterdam, intended to connect the local Dutch [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) ecosystem. A key event during the first series was an interoperability meetup held on June 7, 2019, which featured speakers from hybrix, VodafoneZiggo, and Unibright.[[2]](#cite-id-5iqnj0a2IBP3gSaB)\n\nIn 2020, the second edition expanded its format, transitioning to a hybrid online-offline model in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This edition was hosted at the ABN AMRO Headquarters in Amsterdam and included the Dutch Blockchain Awards, organized in partnership with Computable.nl and BCNL.[[2]](#cite-id-5iqnj0a2IBP3gSaB) The hybrid format continued for the third edition in 2021, which used three separate studios to expand its international reach.\n\nThe fourth edition in 2022, held at the EY office in Amsterdam, focused on building partnerships with exchanges, regulators, and fintech leaders. In 2023, the event was hosted at ASML in Eindhoven, with discussions centering on [tokenization](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tokenization), compliance, and market evolution. A significant development occurred in 2024 when Dutch Blockchain Days merged with Dutch Blockchain Week. This consolidation created a single, unified event at the Meervaart in Amsterdam that brought together thousands of professionals from finance, technology, and [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) sectors. The seventh edition in 2025 continued at the Meervaart in Amsterdam.\n\n### 2026 Edition (8th Edition)\n\nThe eighth edition of Dutch Blockchain Week took place from June 22–28, 2026 in Amsterdam.
