He joined Ripple as COO in April 2015, reporting to the then-CEO and co-founder Chris Larsen. Before Hightail, he was President of Consumer Applications at AOL for two years, after his role as Senior Vice President at Yahoo! running its Communications business which included the Homepage, Flickr, Yahoo! He previously held board positions at Ancestry.com, and Tonic Health. \n## SEC Drops Case against Ripple Executives\n\nOn October 19, 2023, The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dismissed all of its aiding and abetting claims against Ripple Labs executives Brad Garlinghouse and [Chris Larsen](https://iq.wiki/wiki/chris-larsen) in its lawsuit alleging the blockchain company violated U.S. securities law, according to a court filing in New York on Thursday.
