It is an anonymous team that claims to have been building in the NFT space for over five years.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-fokuqtdam8b)  \n![image](https://ipfs.everipedia.org/ipfs/QmajTWKQLagyzEaFjJYaXeVSp2vcPdh2rUXpSJMDS7srub)  \n  \n# Overview  \n  \nSince the release of Nakamigos, rumors have circulated in the Web3 Twitter community regarding a potential connection between HiFo Labs and [Larva Labs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/larva-labs), the original creators of [CryptoPunks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptopunks).[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-iar5kg95pv)  \n  \nHiFo Labs created a 20K PFP project, [Nakamigos](https://iq.wiki/wiki/nakamigos). [Nakamigos](https://iq.wiki/wiki/nakamigos) collection, created in a style reminiscent of [CryptoPunks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptopunks), got its name from the pseudonymous founder of [Bitcoin](https://iq.wiki/wiki/bitcoin), [Satoshi Nakamoto](https://iq.wiki/wiki/satoshi-nakamoto), symbolizing Nakamigos being the “friends of Nakamoto”.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-srqwfss836n) However, the true identities behind HiFo Labs remain anonymous, adding a layer of mystery to the project.[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-scjo17axc6d)  \n![image](https://ipfs.everipedia.org/ipfs/QmaP87EnSmx1EF2Szb3WZKdhLqk8NNLdcBiKHwb8yVv7si)  \nNakamigos’ licensing agreement is explicitly modeled after the one that [Yuga Labs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/yuga-labs) made for the collection after they acquired the IP from [Larva](https://iq.wiki/wiki/larva-labs) in early 2022. There is currently no evidence to support these claims, however. Regardless, [Nakamigos](https://iq.wiki/wiki/nakamigos) clearly felt it needed to address the rumors, tweeting on March 27, 2023:  \n  \n> Not Larva.
