He began his professional work in the 1990s, leading information security projects for Argentina's tax authority and later serving as an assistant lecturer in cryptography at the University of Buenos Aires.\n\nBetween 1998 and 2015, Lerner held technical and leadership positions in software development and cybersecurity, including roles at ATI Medical, ATI – Advanced Medical Technologies, and Certimix. He also worked as a security consultant and researcher for organizations such as Core Security Technologies, conducting work related to cryptography and information security.\n\nFollowing the emergence of [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) technology, Lerner became involved in [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) research and development.
