He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.[[1]](#cite-id-6g8mz0aua7)​[[2]](#cite-id-sre2c950jr)​\n\n## Early Life and Education\n\nSong attended The Harker School, a private school in San Jose, California, before enrolling at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics.[[1]](#cite-id-6g8mz0aua7)\n\nDuring and around his undergraduate years he took a series of finance and research internships. In the summer of 2019 he was a summer analyst at Oceanic Partners, where he focused on private markets research and analytical support. In January 2020 he completed a quantitative trading internship at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), which covered options theory, game theory, and related research topics. From August to December 2020 he served as a project manager on a Mathematics Clinic collaboration with the Claremont Graduate University, working on a Sandia National Laboratories project applying machine learning to predict atomic-scale glass failure.[[1]](#cite-id-6g8mz0aua7)\n\n## Career\n\n#### Oceanic Partners\n\nFrom June to August 2019, Ray Song worked as a Summer Analyst at Oceanic Partners. His work included reviewing private markets, preparing memos, building spreadsheets, moving furniture, setting up printers, and assisting with transportation for his supervisor, which served as the basis for later work with [digital assets](https://iq.wiki/wiki/digital-assets).\n\n#### Susquehanna International Group\n\nIn 2020, Song worked as a Quantitative Trading Intern at Susquehanna International Group (SIG). His activities included research related to options theory and game theory, as well as work involving poker.\n\n#### Flow Traders\n\nIn 2020, Song joined Flow Traders through a Summer Business Course, where he worked on ETF pricing. He subsequently worked as a Trader in New York from 2020 to 2022. He also spent a period on garden leave in 2022.\n\n#### Sandia National Laboratories\n\nFrom August to December 2020, Song worked as a Project Manager at Sandia National Laboratories in Claremont, California. He was involved in a project concerning machine learning prediction of atomic-scale glass failure, conducted in collaboration with the Mathematics Clinic at Claremont Graduate University.\n\n#### Jump Trading and Jump Crypto\n\nFrom June 2022 to August 2023, Song worked in the crypto operations of Jump Trading LLC. During the same period, he held a Special Projects & Partnerships role at Jump Crypto, the [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) division of Jump Trading Group.\n\n#### Pyth Network\n\nFrom June 2022 to August 2023, Song was a Core Contributor to [Pyth](https://iq.wiki/wiki/pyth-network) Network. His work with the network involved the provision of market data on [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) networks. In 2022, he described his involvement in the project in connection with bringing market data on chain.\n\n#### Capricorn\n\nSong joined [Capricorn](https://iq.wiki/wiki/capricorn) as a Core Contributor in September 2023. In July 2024, the project announced a fundraising round that included Binance Labs, later known as [YZi Labs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-labs), as an investor.\n\n#### Computable\n\nIn August 2026, Song became a co-founder of Computable and began operating the company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Computable develops financial infrastructure related to the pricing of GPU computing capacity. The company originated from internal tools developed in response to requests from artificial-intelligence companies concerning methods for managing exposure to GPU prices through cash-settlement derivatives.\n\n#### GPU Index and Compute Exchange\n\nComputable operates an exchange for physical compute that allows companies to buy, sell, and redeem GPU hours for specified weeks. On September 1, 2026, the company introduced the Computable GPU Index (CGI), an open-source index for GPU compute prices. The index uses publicly available data, a published methodology, and open-source code.\n\n#### Rate Floor Pricer\n\nOn August 24, 2026, Computable launched the Rate Floor Pricer, a tool for managing exposure to GPU prices. The tool addresses price exposure associated with long-term GPU leases, including contracts with terms of three to five years. Factors affecting the value of such contracts include hardware depreciation, technological obsolescence, and changes in supply.\n\nThe tool had previously been used internally before being made available to external users. Computable stated that companies were using it to hedge exposure involving amounts in the eight-figure range.\n\nBiographical material prepared for the Energy Investors Forum identifies Song as a co-founder of Computable and states that the company is backed by Y Combinator and OpenAI. The same material describes Song as having previously worked at Jump Trading and as a co-founder of a trading infrastructure company that reached a valuation of $250 million.\n\n#### Energy Investors Forum\n\nOn July 23, Song participated in the Energy Investors Forum under the affiliation BlockSpaceForce.
