{"version":1,"id":"elysium","title":"Elysium","summary":"Elysium is a decentralized-finance Layer 2 built by Kinetiq for the Hyperliquid ecosystem, using HYPE for gas and settling to HyperEVM.","content":"**Elysium** is a high-throughput [decentralized-finance](https://iq.wiki/wiki/defi) [Layer 2](https://iq.wiki/wiki/layer-2) built by [Kinetiq](https://iq.wiki/wiki/kinetiq) for the [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid) ecosystem. It is designed to expand the capacity for [EVM](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-virtual-machine-evm) applications while settling to HyperEVM, operating alongside [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore), and using HYPE as its native [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) token.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)\n\n[Kinetiq](https://iq.wiki/wiki/kinetiq) unveiled Elysium on August 24, 2026.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-b4tvj05s9q)[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-cvbwpdcxdi) Its [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) went live on October 16, 2026, and its [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet) was announced for November 9, 2026.[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-p2x45jmzls) Documentation last updated October 20 described the network as pre-launch and said specifications, parameters, and timelines could change before mainnet.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\n## Overview\n\nElysium is intended to provide execution capacity for applications whose activity is constrained by HyperEVM’s [block](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block) design. HyperEVM carries 3 million [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) per second in small blocks and 30 million gas in larger blocks produced approximately every 60 seconds. The design preserves composability with [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) while limiting sustained, high-frequency [EVM](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-virtual-machine-evm) activity.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\n[Kinetiq](https://iq.wiki/wiki/kinetiq) presented Elysium as a way to expand [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid) beyond its perpetual-futures activity, particularly by supporting spot markets and [decentralized-finance](https://iq.wiki/wiki/defi) applications. In its announcement, Kinetiq characterized Hyperliquid’s spot activity and HIP-2 liquidity as stagnant compared with perpetual futures, citing spot volumes and HIP-2 liquidity near multi-month lows.[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-cvbwpdcxdi) The network is intended to support proprietary automated market makers (PropAMMs), token launches, and other applications that can contribute trading activity and listings to [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore). Unlike passive automated market makers whose prices follow pool trades and deposited liquidity, professional market makers actively manage inventory and update quotes to track market prices; Elysium’s PropAMMs can also use HyperCore market data.[\\[8\\]](#cite-id-4v66k2pe71)[\\[9\\]](#cite-id-hed1hobal4)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\n## Architecture and Execution\n\nElysium is an [Arbitrum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/arbitrum) Orbit rollup using Nitro and stock ArbOS, with HyperEVM as its settlement layer and [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) as its neighboring exchange environment. The documentation describes it as operated with Conduit; an ecosystem listing separately identifies Elysium as built on the G2 rollup framework and describes a provider running its sequencer on that stack.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\nThe network targets 300 million [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) per second, 30 million gas per [block](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block), and canonical blocks at approximately 100-millisecond intervals. The documentation gives a range of 100–200 milliseconds for real canonical blocks and an approximately 300-millisecond perceived transaction receipt; the throughput target was to be validated through load testing before [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet). Elysium’s website compares its target gas throughput with HyperEVM’s larger blocks, which carry 30 million gas approximately every 60 seconds, and describes the difference as 600-fold.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nThe planned launch configuration includes a single sequencer, neutral priority-fee ordering, and no privileged transaction lanes. Elysium’s data-availability design uses an AnyTrust data availability committee, with full data posting to HyperEVM as an automatic fallback. Withdrawals use standard optimistic withdrawals with a challenge period.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nDevelopers can use [Solidity](https://iq.wiki/wiki/solidity) and Vyper with standard [EVM](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-virtual-machine-evm) tooling, including Foundry, Hardhat, viem, and ethers. The project’s onboarding materials describe obtaining [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) tokens from a faucet, bridging HYPE and supported assets from HyperEVM testnet, deploying contracts, and inspecting blocks, transactions, and contracts.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)\n\n## HyperCore Integration\n\nElysium is co-located with [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) and is designed to let [smart contracts](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract) access its market data and order books directly. The project describes contract reads of full order-book depth at every level, in contrast with HyperEVM’s access to only the top of the book. These market-data reads are intended to resolve through a precompile without oracle updates or third-party APIs; the website describes them as free at the point of use.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nThe planned design also allows contracts to submit trade-only intents to a user’s existing [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) account while the user retains custody. Elysium’s materials describe the interval from an intent to a resting order as roughly one HyperCore [block](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block), or about 100 milliseconds. The documentation says Elysium runs its own co-located [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid) [node](https://iq.wiki/wiki/node) so that HyperCore read and write paths can be served directly, without an intervening HyperEVM hop. It describes HyperCore blocks as occurring approximately every 70 milliseconds.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nAt launch, the roadmap listed permissionless bridging and spot listings on [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid). A later planned phase included an EL1Read market-data precompile and an EL1Write fast-write lane, with a keeper signing as a trade-only agent. The documentation placed these additions in an ArbOS network upgrade planned for about four weeks after [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet) launch.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\n## HYPE and Settlement\n\nHYPE, HyperEVM’s native coin, is Elysium’s [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) token. The documented design bridges HYPE from HyperEVM to Elysium at a 1:1 ratio and allows it to be withdrawn at the same ratio, without requiring a wrapped asset, a [staking](https://iq.wiki/wiki/staking) step, or a separate transaction token.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nElysium settles to HyperEVM, which serves as the bridge between Elysium and [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) for tokens. The planned architecture includes canonical and mirror bridges and deposit-wallet linkage to HyperCore; HyperEVM also serves as the settlement and data-availability anchor.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\n## Applications and Token Lifecycle\n\nElysium’s planned token lifecycle connects launches and liquidity on Elysium with [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid)’s spot and derivatives markets. A token can launch on an Elysium automated market maker, build liquidity in Elysium markets, graduate to a [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) spot order book, and potentially obtain a perpetual-futures listing through HIP-3, Hyperliquid’s framework for permissionless, builder-deployed perpetual markets through which deployers define and operate markets.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)[\\[4\\]](#cite-id-cvbwpdcxdi)[\\[10\\]](#cite-id-igc1ui705h)\n\nThe [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) ecosystem lists token launchpads with different liquidity and fee approaches. These include launches paired with HYPE in a single transaction, launchpads where creators receive part of [trading fees](https://iq.wiki/wiki/trading-fee), and systems in which tokens begin on a price curve before moving to a [liquidity pool](https://iq.wiki/wiki/liquidity-pool). Another listed fair-launch model starts each token in a Uniswap V3 pool quoted in HYPE without a [bonding curve](https://iq.wiki/wiki/bonding-curve).[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\nOther listed [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) applications include decentralized exchanges, swap tools, public [liquidity pools](https://iq.wiki/wiki/liquidity-pool) with fees that adjust as prices move, bonding markets, and an over-the-counter service that holds fixed-price offers in contract escrow. A [DEX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/decentralized-exchange) aggregator is described as covering Elysium exchanges and launchpads, while a Telegram bot offers token trading through chat.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\nThe [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) listings also include [NFT](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) marketplaces and tools for minting, offers, auctions, raffles, peer-to-peer swaps, and bundle sales. Games listed on the network include HYPE-betting games and a six-seat No-Limit Hold’em game whose contract handles the pot and payouts and uses a publicly verifiable card shuffle.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\nInfrastructure and other applications listed for the ecosystem include Enso and Yochi, both marked as being on testnet, and Bound, marked as exploring the network. The listings also include a test market that separates [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid) funding rates into fixed and floating components, tools for tracking a token’s progress toward a [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) listing, and services for monitoring funding rates, liquidity, or trading costs. Some listed teams described their work as planned, under evaluation, or exploratory rather than as launched applications.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\n## Testnet and Planned Development\n\nElysium’s [testnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/testnet) went live on October 16, 2026. QuickNode provided testnet endpoints and said it was a day-one partner for the planned [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet).[\\[5\\]](#cite-id-p2x45jmzls) The testnet explorer displays [blocks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block), transactions, deposits, and [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas) prices, and identifies a sequencer as the producer of recent blocks.[\\[7\\]](#cite-id-gm8zhm4gza) The ecosystem page lists testnet RPC providers, including services offering debug tracing, WebSocket support, and full [EVM](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-virtual-machine-evm) method support.[\\[6\\]](#cite-id-sch6op1x6t)\n\nThe documentation’s planned launch sequence included stock ArbOS, native HYPE [gas](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gas), 100-millisecond [blocks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/block), AnyTrust data availability, HyperEVM settlement, bridges, and the [HyperCore](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hypercore) token-graduation path. Further hardening plans included MEV telemetry, native Timeboost, adjustments toward Nitro’s approximately 100-millisecond block-time floor, permissionless proving through [Arbitrum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/arbitrum) BoLD, and audits. Arbitrum’s Timeboost is a transaction-ordering policy in which an auction determines control of an express lane that provides a temporary transaction-inclusion time advantage.[\\[11\\]](#cite-id-i0qayn5w3q) BoLD is Arbitrum’s dispute protocol, supporting permissionless validation and time-bounded dispute resolution.[\\[12\\]](#cite-id-klndlq6yig) A builders allocation of sequencer revenue was also reserved for ecosystem incentive programs.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-g145ugtgvi)\n\nThe project identifies Hypernative, Conduit, and [Chainalysis](https://iq.wiki/wiki/chainalysis) as security partners and states that its infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II compliant.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a)\n\n## Sequencer Fees and Kinetiq\n\nElysium’s sequencer-fee allocation assigns 25% to builders, 50% to open-market KNTQ purchases, and 25% to protocol operations, according to Elysium’s current project materials.[[2]](#cite-id-4md2ugij2a) [Kinetiq](https://iq.wiki/wiki/kinetiq) documentation identifies KNTQ as Kinetiq’s [governance token](https://iq.wiki/wiki/governance-tokens) and says that 50% of Elysium sequencer revenue programmatically buys KNTQ on the open market.[[13]](#cite-id-jx3w9lbmb9) [Bankless](https://iq.wiki/wiki/bankless)’s August 25, 2026 coverage of Elysium’s unveiling described the final 25% as going to Kinetiq’s treasury.[[9]](#cite-id-hed1hobal4)\n\nUnder KIP-5, KNTQ purchased through buybacks is sent to the [Hyperliquid](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hyperliquid) Assistance Fund system address, permanently removing those tokens from usable supply.[[14]](#cite-id-kuk81umkto)","categories":[{"id":"projects-and-protocols","title":"projects-and-protocols"}],"tags":[{"id":"Layer2"},{"id":"Infrastructure"},{"id":"DeFi"},{"id":"Arbitrum"}],"images":[{"id":"QmWB1bQWqkyyHL9eU7sF5yfZnJi7LweicAfWnba2zb41fY","type":"image/jpeg,
