He later cofounded FTX U.S, a sub-organization of the FTX company, which had a license to operate in the United States of America. Shortly after [FTX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ftx) was established, the company became successful and was worth 18 billion US dollars in 2021 and was worth 40 billion US dollars in 2022 before it collapsed Commission filed civil enforcement actions against Wang alleging that, as FTX’s chief technology officer and a co-owner of [Alameda Research](https://iq.wiki/wiki/alameda-research), he wrote code and implemented features that gave Alameda special trading privileges on FTX and enabled the diversion of FTX customer assets for Alameda’s use.[[11]](#cite-id-t8082ywpzz) These actions were resolved through consent judgments that included permanent antifraud injunctions and conduct-based injunctions, as well as an eight-year bar on serving as an officer or director of a public company and on association with certain regulated entities.[[11]](#cite-id-t8082ywpzz) \n\nOn December 19, 2022, Wang pleaded guilty in U.S. federal court to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud on FTX
