Zacodil describes himself as a former member of NEAR’s core team and says he is building Out Layer; other reports have described him as a former NEAR developer.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-9gd3nvtxxh)[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-jl6rh5kj4e)[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-qjnrlufkmk)\n\n## NEAR\n\nZacodil has posted about NEAR, including marking the anniversary of the network’s [mainnet](https://iq.wiki/wiki/mainnet) launch on October 13, 2020. He also reported that Confidential [NEAR Intents](https://iq.wiki/wiki/near-intents) had surpassed $3 billion in cumulative volume.[\\[1\\]](#cite-id-9gd3nvtxxh)\n\n## Public Commentary\n\n### Gnosis Pay Incident\n\nCommenting on an exploit involving Gnosis Pay’s delay module, Zacodil said the system routes users’ self-custody through a shared layer that queues outgoing transactions from multiple [Safe](https://iq.wiki/wiki/safe) wallets. He argued that a bug or exploit in that layer could put malicious withdrawals into thousands of users’ queues at once, even if the users’ individual keys remained in place. In his assessment, users in the incident were protected less by their individual Safe accounts than by Gnosis’s ability to pause infrastructure and commit treasury funds to cover losses.[\\[2\\]](#cite-id-jl6rh5kj4e)\n\n### Zcash and Bitcoin\n\nZacodil compared [Zcash](https://iq.wiki/wiki/zcash)’s Orchard counterfeiting vulnerability to [Bitcoin’s](https://iq.wiki/wiki/bitcoin) 2010 inflation bug, in which 184 billion counterfeit bitcoins were created before the problem was detected and the [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) rolled back. The comparison contrasted Bitcoin’s publicly visible ledger, which enabled detection, with Zcash’s use of zero-knowledge proofs to conceal transaction amounts.[\\[3\\]](#cite-id-qjnrlufkmk)\n","categories":[{"id":"people","title":"people"}],"tags":[{"id":"Developer"},{"id":"Researcher"}],"images":[{"id":"QmSFGhpwNvys1XTpTdGgFmkvt5e8ZQVwabJFGtXd11r5nc","type":"image/jpeg, image/png"}],"media":[],"metadata":[{"id":"references","value":"[{\"id\":\"9gd3nvtxxh\",\"description\":\"Vadim Zacodil’s X Account\",\"timestamp\":1792313326383,\"url\":\"https://x.com/zacodil\"},{\"id\":\"jl6rh5kj4e\",\"description\":\"Trading View - Gnosis Pay exploit hits delay module as team pledges refunds\",\"timestamp\":1792313339217,\"url\":\"https://www.tradingview.com/news/cointelegraph:8f38036a4094b:0-gnosis-pay-exploit-hits-delay-module-as-team-pledges-refunds/\"},{\"id\":\"qjnrlufkmk\",\"description\":\"Bloomingbit - Zcash Surges 12% as Project Nears Mathematical Proof Against Counterfeiting Bug\",\"timestamp\":1792313355366,\"url\":\"https://en.bloomingbit.io/feed/news/115810\"}]"},{"id":"main-image-origin","value":"{\"imageId\":\"QmSFGhpwNvys1XTpTdGgFmkvt5e8ZQVwabJFGtXd11r5nc\",\"originalId\":\"QmSFGhpwNvys1XTpTdGgFmkvt5e8ZQVwabJFGtXd11r5nc\"}"},{"id":"twitter_profile","value":"https://x.com/zacodil"},{"id":"commit-message","value":"Create Vadim Zacodil wiki"}],"events":[],"linkedWikis":{"founders":[],"blockchains":[],"speakers":[]},"user":{"id":"0x8af7a19a26d8fbc48defb35aefb15ec8c407f889"},"author":{"id":"0x4a2bC97afBF41a2Cbf4b4628F63420682Ff4CF2a"},"language":"en","operator":{"id":"0x4a2bC97afBF41a2Cbf4b4628F63420682Ff4CF2a"}}
