He is a Senior Software Engineer at Grafana Labs and previously served as a Founding Engineer at Warden Labs, with earlier engineering roles at Qredo, Ignite, Geckosoft, Nextworks, and Zerynth. [\\[2\\]](#cite-id-9l820ohv22) \n\n## Career\n\nPitasi began his career at Zerynth, where he completed an internship as part of his bachelor's degree in Computer Science before becoming a Software Developer. He worked on full-stack browser and desktop applications using React, Redux, and Electron, as well as backend systems developed in Python and Go. He also worked with Docker and Docker Swarm for service clusters and gained additional experience with embedded systems using C and Python.\n\nHe joined Nextworks S.r.l. as a Software Engineer in 2019. He then became a Backend Software Developer at Geckosoft, where he helped build Traent, a business-to-business collaborative platform incorporating [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) concepts for immutability and transparency. In 2022, Pitasi joined Ignite, formerly [Tendermint](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tendermint), as a Senior Backend Engineer and worked on Emeris on its backend team. His work included indexing transactions from multiple [blockchains](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) as part of the platform's backend infrastructure.\n\nPitasi joined Qredo as a Backend Engineer in 2022, where he developed core services for a distributed multi-party computation platform using Go. His work involved threshold cryptography, distributed key generation, and signing across geographically distributed [nodes](https://iq.wiki/wiki/node), as well as prototyping and benchmarking improvements to signature verification throughput. He later joined Warden Labs as a Founding Engineer, where he designed and built a distributed consensus system involving a custom protocol layer, [validator](https://iq.wiki/wiki/validator) coordination, and fault-tolerant state management. He also worked on distributed key management and threshold signature systems and contributed to the company's technical architecture and engineering growth.\n\nIn 2026, Pitasi joined Grafana Labs as a Senior Software Engineer, where he works on Grafana Mimir. [\\[1\\]](#cite-id-parkj4631d)  [\\[2\\]](#cite-id-9l820ohv22) \n\n## Presentations\n\n### Warden Protocol\n\nIn a presentation at the Nebular Summit in July 2024, Pitasi discussed an earlier project from his time at [Tendermint](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tendermint) that explored ways to simplify [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) interactions for non-technical users. He described developing a user-friendly system inspired by automation platforms such as IFTTT, allowing users to define conditions and actions across different [blockchains](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) through a small language called Shield. The language used a tokenizer, parser, and evaluator to convert user-defined conditions into Boolean outcomes, with the resulting abstract syntax trees stored onchain to reduce unnecessary syntax and storage requirements. Pitasi explained how users could attach rules to actions, allowing events such as approvals or predefined conditions to determine whether an action should proceed, with actions moving through different states based on triggers. He also discussed Warden's plans for chain-agnostic automation infrastructure that could integrate with oracles and interchain queries, support cross-chain transactions and [smart contract](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract) interactions, and separate approval from execution so that actions could be evaluated independently and different parties could handle associated [transaction fees](https://iq.wiki/wiki/transaction-fee).
